On April 25, Cardano cryptocurrency developers from Input Output Global (IOG) increased the block size of the digital asset’s network by 10% (from 80 KB to 88 KB).
The 10% increase in block size will significantly increase network throughput and speed up decentralized applications. This is the latest blockchain optimization in a series of updates planned for 2022,” IOG officials said.
Over the next five days, experts will monitor the ADA network to determine the vector for the next upgrades. Apparently, if successful, programmers will think about further increasing the “weight” of blocks to increase blockchain performance.
IOG workers released the update in response to the growing transaction volume on the Cardano network. According to Messari, the amount of remittances on the ADA network began to rise in early 2022 and by March 28 had increased 30-fold (from $2.84 billion to $86.63 billion). Then the figure began to fall rapidly and has already decreased by 76% (to $ 20.98 billion).
