The Walt Disney Company has posted an associate position to explore and work on an “accelerated and aggressive schedule” with new technologies, including NFT and DeFi.
The conglomerate’s vacancy states that the associate will “collaborate with business teams during the development of new global technology projects” in segments such as the meta-universe and decentralised finance (DeFi):
“Assist in the vetting of NFT, blockchain, third-party trading platforms and cloud providers projects. Negotiate and draft contracts for these projects”.
The specialist will join the legal team at Walt Disney Corporation, in the corporate transactions division. The candidate must have five years’ experience in managing and handling complex transactions, preferably at a large multinational law firm with an internationally recognised corporate practice. Typically, such experts deal with mergers and acquisitions and other complex business relationships.
Disney CEO Bob Chapek previously said that the company was studying and developing plans for a meta-universe. In June, the corporation hired the former Apple executive as vice president of Creative Context for Next Generation, and the following month the consumer affairs manager was promoted to executive vice president of Consumer Experience.
The Walt Disney Company began showing interest in blockchain back in 2016. Specifically, the company posted a vacancy for a closed-loop blockchain expert. The expert was needed in the DTSS (Technology Solutions and Services Department).
