The Ministry of Finance of Russia supported the proposal of law enforcement agencies to finalize the bill on regulation of cryptocurrencies.
In particular, we are talking about the need to fix in the law the obligation of cryptocurrency exchanges and cryptocurrency wallets to provide users’ data at the request of investigators, as well as to prohibit the advertising of such sites without a license.
In addition, the bill prescribes the order of arrest of digital assets.
However, not all the issues are still agreed upon. For example, there is no interagency consensus on the definition of mining. The Federal Security Service also insists on mandatory transfer of cryptocurrencies derived from mining to exchanges, but the Ministry of Finance does not support this idea.
The final bill is expected to be submitted to the State Duma in May, said Anatoly Aksakov, head of the Committee on Financial Markets.
