OKX previously announced that deposits to OP would begin to be accepted on Tuesday, and if they reached the required threshold, the exchange would open crypto-asset withdrawals. Deposits appeared on KuCoin somewhat earlier, AAX, MEXC and LBank made similar announcements.
Optimism is an EVM-compatible blockchain designed to make Ethereum transactions cheaper and faster.
OP will be the Token House protocol control token, one of the two elements that make up Optimism’s control system.
Token House is responsible for treasury management, upgrades and network parameters, while Citizen House will provide payouts from commissions generated by the network.
The offering will be 4,294,967,296 OP, 225,485,783 OP of which will be part of the initial turnover. Those eligible to give it away include early Optimism investors, who numbered more than 250,000 in April.
